Maison Gross
Like its founder, Maison Gross is still figuring out what its deal is and basking in the all consuming growing pains of it. An amorphous something made from nothing. Name inspired half by french fashion houses and the family to which the artist was born. An exploration of the very concept of what a house and, by extension, the ever more complex “home” is. Bursting from seams four walls could never corral, in Gross’ experience home isn’t so much a destination but the space, physical or otherwise, we create for ourselves on our way to something else.
The Artist
Born at the turn of the millennium. Living between worlds. Soaking in memories past, and daydreaming, always, about what could be. Chloe Gross is a multidisciplinary artist from Toronto, Canada. Forever seeking balance, chasing the ever elusive present, and incorporating play and humour throughout her practice wherever possible.
